Our Last Day

Hello everyone, so today is our last day in the Market Walk shopping centre *boohoo*. We've had such a fun week and hope you've all enjoyed keeping up with our progress and checking out the shop. It's not too late to pay us a visit though as we're open until 5.30 today! 

We still have some gorgeous stock left including these pretty head pieces from Sahar Millinery, dresses and skirts from Gemma Darby, local artwork and of course pieces from our own design students. Oh and don't forget our fabulous menswear section with tee's and jumpers from Mazsk! It's your last chance so don't miss out!

Busy day at the shop!

It's our fourth day in our shop, after the big launch and the first few busy days its been a little bit quieter today which gave us a perfect chance to restock and put out some more of our beautiful new items out. while doing the restocking we had a visit from one of local talented designers who is proudly stocked in our shop. Her collection and designs have been extremely popular in the shop, her designs named Bohemian Charms include delicate dream catchers, unique earrings and other little carefully created charms. scroll down to have a look at some of her items currently being stocked with us.

Array: Opening fashion show!!

Its finally here!!! As you all know today was a very EXCITING day for us as we finally opened our shop and got to see what we were all putting the hard work in for! Our marketing team set up a fashion show, showcasing some of the products for sale in the shop along with drinks and cakes on offer to the public. Some of our online team went along to help out with sorting everything and modelling before so we decided it would be a good idea to do a blog post on the backstage and step up of the show! 

The hair and makeup was done by our own fashion marketing students, the eye makeup is inspired by the Chanel SS14 makeup in Paris fashion week! As the theme of the store is Urban/Street-Chic they decided that to fit in with the theme big, backcombed hair would work the best with the outfits! Everyone looked fantastic, the shop looks amazing and the show went really well (which was a massive relief to all of us!) We could not have done it without the help of everyone on our course!

A little about our brand and shop!

Since our shop is opening soon and you've probably seen all our posters around town and on our social media about the opening. we thought a little blog post about our brand and shop would be helpful to you before you come and visit us :)

Our little pop up shop in town has been completely set up by second year fashion marketing students from the university of Northampton.  we haven't done this alone but with help and support of our generous sponsors.

The concept of our shop was based upon an urban/ street-chic theme and has been reflected in the designers we have chosen to be stocked in our shop it also fits in well with our destination.

We will be showcasing and stocking work from the university undergraduates as well as an electric mix of British manufactured brands and local designers. we have many exciting names on broad as you see  already know  from some of our previous blogs and little teasers photos on our other social media.

We will be launching our shop on Monday 24th March and will run between the 24th till the 29th, our opening times are 9am till 5pm.

Array events: Eating contest

Last night we held our eating contest at MoMo's in Northampton town center in order to raise money for our pop-up shop. It was ran by our finance team and we managed to get hold of 9 contestants to join in with the fun and games! For the first round they gave the contestants a very large bowl of pasta mixed with mayo and tomato sauce in which they had 2 minutes to eat as much as possible, the 5 that ate the most then went through to the second round! 

The second round consisted of a plate of hot dogs, where of course they had 3 minutes to eat as many hot dogs as possible, of course the best 3 then went into the final. In the final they contestants were given 4 steak pies, they were again given 3 minutes to eat it! Congratulations to our winner, who eat nearly everything put on his plate, Jake Cawthorne a first year at Northampton University, winning himself a meal for 2 at a Chinese restaurant.

Array's Designers: Bohemian Charms

Bohemian charms, created by Zoe Layla Lambourne, is one brand featuring in our up and coming pop up shop. The collection is made up of beautifully decorated bracelets, trinkets and other handmade items that are great to buy as little gifts or as a treat for yourself. Zoe enjoys playing with patterns and textures like bark, leather and lace as well as dainty materials like bells, ribbons and feathers. 

Materials are usually sustainable whilst jewellery and trinkets are up-cycled in order to raise awareness about recycling and support the ongoing community project called Triskele Collective. This project is trying to make a change in an Eco friendly way by giving a platform to local arts and crafts businesses that create unique pieces. We hope you'll love these natural crafty pieces as much as we do!

 

Array's Designers: Daisy Designs

Daisy Designs produce hand crafted hemp and glass beaded bracelets made by Phoebe Knuff. They are one of the amazing up and coming brands which we are going to be selling in the pop up shop, offering a choice from their favorite collections of jewellery. Daisy Designs offer a range of ready made items, but will also do made to order meaning you can add your own little touches to designs. They do not as yet have a website but they do have a Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/daisydesignsuk.

The jewellery consists if lots of bright colours and beads hand crafted together, they make really good friendship bracelets! Below are pictures of some of the jewellery that they have to offer...
